1 out of 5 stars Beware: Poor Quality and Customer Service   November 1, 2008

I bought these bands for my 70 year old mother as a gift. The enclosed instructions were not helpful for her, but I was able to show her various ways to use the bands. She was quite excited about the program and even recruited some of her friends to try them out. However, after two months the green band developed a whole at the base of the handle. Since this whole was clearly due to a manufacturing defect, we contacted SPRI. They refused to help us at first, but after multiple attempts a manager agreed to send us a replacement band. That was over three months ago, and we are still waiting. We actually called back several more times during that interval to enquire and were never again able to talk to the manager who had agreed to send us the replacement, despite the fact that we had her name and requested her each time we called. In short, I do not fault SPRI because the band had a manufacturing defect that led to a tear, but I can not recommend purchasing from this company because they do not stand behind their products and their customer service is terrible.

4 out of 5 stars What a work out!   September 3, 2008
Jody Schroeder (Lakewood, WA USA)
I love how these things work. Gives me a great work out. The only thing that I would improve upon is the fact that you have to guess, by trying them out, which band or tube is what resistance. No way to know otherwise. Good product. Poor information.

4 out of 5 stars hints on use   August 19, 2008
S. C. Nelson (los angeles)
This is a good product, I'm happy with the workout it's given me, but for users new to the world of resistance training, more care should be taken to insure a successful experience. As a regular gym goer I was pleased (and surprised!) at how well the bands imitated an actual gym machine. HOWEVER, I have to agree with the previous review about the vague instructions, especially in a kit aimed at beginner level. I had to go back and re-read a couple of times when setting up the door adapter, and depended on the packaging photos to get it right. (the "plugged" end of the door adapter by the way, is the one without the loop for the tube. I thought they meant a plug to put over the door hinge). The only explanation of the bands and exercises they are used for is on the packaging-which I almost threw away. Since the instructions say to perform only the limited number of exercises provided, it would be helpful, and a lot safer, if they were separated by skill level, with advanced ones illustrated more clearly.

2 out of 5 stars still trying to figure out   May 12, 2008

I am still so confused as to how to use these! The directions are lacking in explanation and pictures of how to configure! They also don't tell you which tube is which so I am not sure which one to begin with!
